Our Company
T & D Towing, LLC is a marine transportation company with a combined 60 years of experience in the towing industry. Our story began when Tommy Tamplain and Darryl Chauvin joined forces in 2005 to form a company that would provide top-notch services to the marine industry. With a hands-on approach, we have built a reputation for providing quality services in a timely and safe manner.
Our Fleet
We operate a fleet of four vessels, comprising three offshore tugs and one inland tug. Our vessels are equipped with the latest technology and are designed to meet the demands of the marine industry. Our fleet is diversified to cater to various types of services needed in the marine industry, including transporting bulk commodities, providing services to the oil and gas industries, as well as dredging and construction industries.
Our Services
Our services include anchor handling, towing material barges for derrick barges or pipe lay vessels, and delivering cargo coastwide. We operate in various regions including the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, Eastern Seaboard, and inland areas such as the ICW from Texas to Florida and Western Rivers including the Upper and Lower Mississippi River, Arkansas River, Ohio River, Tennessee River, Atchafalaya River, Red River, and Ouachita River.
Our Safety Management System
At T & D Towing, LLC, we take safety seriously. We operate under a Safety Management System that ensures we comply with all applicable regulations, codes, guidelines, and standards. We are committed to providing a safe working environment for our crew and clients.
Miss Lizzy
The Miss Lizzy is one of our largest offshore model bow tugs with an upper wheelhouse height of 40'. The vessel is equipped with a 46 SMATCO double drum winch rigged for running anchors and towing with 2000 feet of 1 1/2 inch cable.
Miss Beth
The Miss Beth is our inland push boat that was totally refurbished in 2014 with Scania engines with 1,250 BHP. The vessel was repowered with main propulsion Scania engines and new 40 KW generator sets. The Miss Beth is fuel-efficient and has a 40 ft eye level with an upper wheelhouse that can be removed or reinstalled in one day if the job requires. She was our first vessel to receive Subchapter M COI.
Miss Jean
The Miss Jean is our largest vessel at 105' in length with 3250 brake horsepower furnished by two Caterpillar 3516 main engines. The tow winch is an Intercon double drum with anchor handling capability with 200K lb line pull. We are capable of tandem towing with 2200 feet of 2 wire on each drum. The vessel is also equipped with pop-up pins. The elevated pilot house has an eye level of 45'.
